Frequently Asked Questions

These answers are intended for clients and families considering end-of-life doula support and yoga-informed home care. My mission is to bring clarity and calm to your journey, and also provide dedicated support for families navigating the complexities of end-of-life care and bereavement.

What is the role of an End-of-Life Doula?

An End-of-Life Doula provides non-medical physical, emotional, and spiritual support. I assist with legacy work, comfort measures, and navigating the transitions of the dying process with dignity and calm.

The first priority is always the patient and their wishes.

While I am happy to integrate Yoga practices into the Doula role, please note that the true focus of Doula work is serving the patient and their transition, so that comes first!

Tell me about your pricing and insurance basics.

A 2-hour session of any type is $120, payable by cash or debit.  If you would like to create a package for doula services, that can be arranged as well.

While therapeutic yoga and end-of-life doula interventions are not generally covered by standard health insurance, I can provide documentation for HSA/FSA reimbursement where applicable.

Will you work on a sliding scale?

Yes.  I believe that illness care and end-of-life care are essential, and will work with you to find a rate that works for both of us.

I serve the communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, Big Bear, and Twentynine Palms.

What areas in California do you serve?
What do yoga-informed home care services look like in my home or in my facility?

I bring gentle movement, mindfulness, and therapeutic touch directly to your living space and/or bedside. Sessions are tailored to your energy levels and physical needs, ensuring comfort and accessibility at all times.

Do you offer regular kinds of caregiving as well?

Yes. I can perform basic caregiving duties. I make sure to work in tandem with your medical providers to align with your health plan.

How often do visits typically happen?

This is up to you. Visit frequency is flexible and based on your specific needs. Some families prefer weekly stabilization sessions, while others may require more frequent support during acute transitions. Regular visit packages can be arranged, too.

How do we get started with Om @ Home Care?

We'll begin with a brief call, text, or email (your choice) to discuss your goals and specific situation. From there, our first session will be a home or bedside meeting with you (and, if desired, your loved ones) to create a personalized care plan that suits your environment and needs.
